Our Story
Kingfisher Day Centre began its journey in Bedford in 1999 - and we're proud to still have some of our original team with us today! Over the years, we’ve grown into a vibrant, supportive community where positivity, friendship, and laughter are part of daily life. While we love to focus on the good in every day, we’re also here with a listening ear and a helping hand when times are tough. At Kingfisher, it’s not just about care - it’s about connection, belonging, and living life to the fullest, together.

We welcome adults with a wide range of needs, including those with physical disabilities, mental health challenges, learning disabilities, or cognitive impairments. We don't focus on specific conditions - instead, we focus on the individual. If we can meet someone’s needs safely and supportively, they are welcome here. Our approach is person-centred, inclusive, and flexible, ensuring each person receives the care, respect, and support they deserve
